About the Photographer

A few things about me: Amber Bishop

I am a wife and mother, daughter and sister, friend and dreamer, artist, and worshiper, broken and being renewed. All of these things influence my art. I love to paint with oils and acrylics but photography is the medium that stimulates me the most.

As a working photographer who shoots everything from newborns to weddings, it is relaxing to me to create a very specific art piece or still life using static elements. It feels to me like painting with light and shadows, texture and color.

I am part of a local artist collective called the proskyneo collective. Together, we believe that to create beautiful art and music is to be close to God the original and most prolific artist. It is a form of worship to Him. Honoring his beautiful work in the world, to do as he does, and create beauty.

My artful eye is God given. I am self taught and enjoy the continual learning process photography provides. It is a quieting thing for me. Everything else fades away, and I can rest and be still even in the midst of some very busy and loud situations. It is a very beautiful thing.
